Do I have a chance to get into Columbia University?

I'm not going to go on about myself but the basics are: I'm hispanic, i come from a lower middle class family (my dad is a retired nyc firefighter), my SAT is a 2100, my GPA is a 98, i have a teacher rec from a previous Columbia professor who said he has a lot of pull? Any ideas? Does columbia actually look at the fact that i know a previous professor?

Thanks a lot guyssssss and chicassss!!

I wouldn't take that claim word for word, I mean, you aren't heritage or anything. Your SAT is nothing special, and you didn't even specify your APs and ECs. Although you're an URM, big-name schools are VERY competitive (I can't recall the admittance rate for Columbia), but still, you're probably a reach.
