How much free time do Columbia students get? What is the workload like, and how often do Columbia students go have fun/socialize or go to parties?

A good amount of "free time," but it's usually taken up by socializing or clubs/organizations. Clubs in college take a lot of time and are also great places to socialize/have fun.

It obviously depends on your major, but college was reasonably easy even as a CS major. I spent a lot of time off campus.

Agree with both if the above. Unless you take something like 2800 physics or honors math, you will have plenty of free time to socialize. It's what you make of it. Make friends early. If you want to party, get a fake or make friends with people who do.
