My interviewer told me that interview reports are due this Friday. Thanksgiving being on Thursday and all, if you haven't gotten an interview at this point, I don't think you'll get one

What the heck? My interviewer emailed me to schedule a meeting, and I emailed back.. Still haven't gotten a follow-up. I really hope this gets done by Friday

@AMRF08: I'm a major ORM lol..I'm Indian. Add that to the fact that I haven't done anything spectacular, and I don't think I should expect anything other than a deferral. Rejection would sting though.

I didn't get an interview email either. Strange. I'd think my area would be swarming with alumni, cause a lot of people apply to Columbia each year. It has the largest sample size on Naviance, at least. Still, if it makes no difference, I guess I shouldn't complain. That leaves me with a problem, however: it'll be regular decision time and I still won't have had an interview. MIT will be my first

Don't sweat it. The alumni network that handles interviews tries its hardest to get everyone an interview, but then again, getting an interview doesn't necessarily better the possibility of acceptance.

^ Ditto.

If I get in it'll be a miracle. A Christmastime Miracle~ I asked them to change my application pool so I figure I shot myself in the foot with that one :\ But it can happen.

Oh well. Here's to the best

I'd be sooo content with a deferral I'm an ORM (indian) so my chances are pretty slim haha the only advantage I have is I'm going for Journalism and not anything remotely engineering/pre-med so I guess I'm sorta different in that respect..? but thats not really even an advantage lol.
It's my birthday and what am I doing? Trolling on college confidential and studying. No sleep for me tonight

lol happy birthday! If I were you, I wouldn't be 'so' content with a deferral. It means you've spent ED advantage in a vain. I'm Korean (ORM as well?) but I would be at least somewhat disappointed at deferral. If rejection, then... Idk what I'll do haha

If accepted, I'd be surprised but very relieved. This probably sounds weird, but I'd want to get a Columbia sweatshirt as soon as possible, lol. Getting deferred would be somewhat disappointing. On one hand, I have to wait 3-4 more months, and probably be discouraged that I didn't get accepted the first time. On the other hand, however, it gives me a little more hope. Finally, if I get rejected, I'll be in a period of ultimate sadness for about a day, get over it, and force myself to be satisfied with UConn.
