Is the core still manditory for transfer students?

I ask because after reading about it from the website, its something I would really enjoy doing in full. It seems like a great educational experience. If I was accepted (aside from the ensuing 24-hour long squeal) would I be given the option to transfer credits for my other major classes (business-related) and still do the core?

it is mandatory, and how does that matter if you're in love with it and would do it anyway? - it almost seems like you think admin officers would read this thread and be more likely to take you because of it. columbia has no undergrad business major btw, just in case you didn't know that.

good luck anyway.

As a transfer my admission deadline isn't until March 15th so this is just a learning phase. And I probably won't fill my application as 'Undisclosed- Junior Member of CC'

I know Columbia doesnt have a biz undergrad. But a lot of the classes Ive done so far are in their economics department so I believe transfer would be possible. And I just mentioned that I loved it because...err, well I do? It's a very interesting curriculum. At my current school, the major takes about 90% of your curriculum with very little electives. I just think it'd be a good experience. Not everyone who likes education is necessarily a brown-noser.

What core courses you have to complete depend on what school you'll be attending. SEAS students take a slightly different core set with comp. sci., economics, etc. For all of your transfer credits you'll have to write petitions, and I think those credits will probably carry over (I assume they're related to econ and stats). However, it's unlikely that you can get credits for core requirements.
