| I have such an embarrassing employment history I can't bare to post it. Suffice it to say, whatever work experience you have, any of you, it's more impressive than mine. I'm looking at you, Denny's night shift managers. (I'm not kidding). |

| Around 70 units. I suppose it depends on how many they're willing to take. |

| Well, here are my stats since Aneece and Columbiagirl have been so nice to disclose theirs.
Age: 25
Major: Econ
GPA: 4.0 California Community College
HS GPA: 2.5 WEIGHTED. How embaressing
SAT -560 ENG + 640 MATH = 1200 (taken exactly eight years ago so they are still valid although not very good scores. I probably should have retaken).
EC,etc: Military/Iraqi Vet, College campus newspaper editor, Dean's list
Will have completed 70 semester units by the end of this spring & AA in General/Lib.Arts and Business. I finished these units in one year, taking 20 credits in Summer 07, 25 in Fall 07, and currently taking 25.
I also wrote an addendum to explain the h.s. transcript... |

| Yikes, I will be applying this spring with only 19 units completed at a California Community College. I understand these units may be different from other units, but 19 compared to 70 is very small. I hope that will not hurt my chances. |

| No one else, huh? It's getting lonely. To the newly admitted, current, and former students, is there any insight you can offer on financial aid at GS? Do they send an initial offer with one's admissions packet? I am dying to know if I can afford to attend. I've dug around on this site and elsewhere, but I'm still not clear on what to expect, (or perhaps I just don't like what I've read so far). |

| Aneece,
I know it's not what you want to hear, but FinAid is really bad. Read my previous posts, they'll tell you how much you should expect. Actually, might get a little more now (about 1k per year) than the figures I provided back then.
I met with the head of financial aid at GS and he suggested I 'go to school part time for a few years and then take out private loans (30k+) during the last year if I wanted to finish in a timely manner with 'little' debt.' Yeah, like I have 7 years to burn getting a BA.
If you're banking on GS aid and are an out of state student (ie, without a job or cheap place to stay), you WILL have to take out private loans, in addition to federal ones, if you want to study full-time. |
