| Received a call from Columbia asking if I wanted to get off the waitlist
Supposedly, the person said that only the "strongest waitlist applicants" get the phone call. Is this true? Did a lot of people get phone calls from Columbia? They didn't give a decision or anything.. it was more to see if I was still interested |

| Hey RedStorm, why are you saying congratulations. I'm not going to look into it too much... I mean Columbia is still my first choice, and I had to submit my deposit elsewhere just because it was required.
I'm just going to assume I'm not going to Columbia for now.. I'd hate to get my expectations up. Hypothetically, if I get in, I'd go to Columbia hands down. | |

| The call is to see if you want to remove your name from the waitlist while they construct the much smaller waitlist they will actually use now that they have a more reasonable estimate of need. (Read the original post) Being on the shorter list is still no guarantee of admission. Not being called is probably a guarantee of not being taken. I would not panic yet as they may not have completed the calls. | |

| Well I only sent in a one-page supplement updating them on my accomplishments:
Valedictorian
National Merit Scholar
Participant in an International Relations Program at USC
Nominated for Byrd Scholarship
Accepted into a Perfect Math Score Club
On that same paper, I wrote about my experience at the USC Conference and how Columbia is perfect for me. I did not directly express how I would contribute to the campus, though.

| Well my counselor just nominated it for me so I do not know the details of it. xD It's funny because the two people who got nominated were ranked 1st and 2nd in the class and just happened to be standing right in front of the college counselor when she was choosing the nominees. | |
