| I agree with you wabab. Although I was accepted from the waitlist, there seems to be too many people who were also taken from the waitlist and who happened to be on CC. I have a feeling that they seriously underenrolled because why would they send out the waitlist decisions this early starting from May 1?
But I am not going to complain; this works in our favor. |

| I wrote a letter and then followed it up with an e-mail to my regional admissions officer. Honestly though, I think I just lucked out. |

| I think the stats do not matter so much because we are all qualified at this point. I think the school chooses from the waitlist in order to balance out the class. |

| demographic info would be helpful I agree that waitlisted student have what it takes. I think Columbia is balancing the class demographically in a range of areas. However, it would be interesting to have those accept off the list provide the following:
CC or SEAS
your gender
state
ethnicity--if you identified one
public or private HS
your intended major
misc. notes
My initial impression is that more young men have been accepted than female...but it would be nice to know where admissions saw gaps in next year's class. |

| My daughter is on the waitlist. I am trying to keep tabs on things to spare her the anxiety--this just prolongs the pain. |

| I can understand. Columbia is my first choice, and this wait is absolutely killing me. Especially since I can't help but feel like I probably won't get in since it seems like they're notifying people by the minute, and I haven't heard anything.
Oh God! |

| I agree with adnromeda, this feeling is killing me. the strange thing is that Columbia starts accepting people now while the letter said earliest would be May 15th. I wonder if May 15th is the date when they begin accepting people from the general pool. once again, congrats to guys who are accepted. |
