USNWR College Rankings

Just went to the bookstore and the 2009 rankings are out, the top 20 look as follows:

1) H
2) P
3) Y
4) S
4) M
6)Cal
6) Penn
8) Col
8) Duke
8) U Chic
11) Dart
12) Wash U
12) NW
14) Cor
15) JHU
16) Brown
17) Rice
18) Emory
18) ND
18) VD

Columbia at 8th place is the highest we've been ranked in over a decade possibly ever by usnews.

I think the rankings aren't great, but they influence people so moving up is a +

tied at #18... Venereal Disease!

Dartmouth sure moved up considerably. Brown has kinda fallen off the table.

^actually D has been 9-11 for eons, brown's been about 15 for eons too (perhaps underrated by the rankings). chicago for under grad rankings is at a peak.

(Wow, I love how we don't even need to spell out the whole word to know what it means.)

As poker players say, if you look around the room and can't figure out who's the easy money, it's you.

ridiculous to say that penn is equal with caltech. caltech is #1 in the country imo, for what it does. hands down strongest student body.

I don't know about that. When I visited, I wasn't really impressed by the students I spoke with. Either I had unbelievable B.O., Ebola, or they were a bit anti-social.

"strongest student body" doesn't exactly imply "strongest social skills," but we certainly do have normal people here. come on a tour - our guides are good people to talk to!
