i'm applying to engineering too, but i don't think that putting down the authors are necessary for the book questions.

in fact, they may even cause a running out of space (with the books taking half of the 300 word space)

I'm ED to the College.

I didn't put authors, because I did run out of room! I don't want to be one of those obnoxious people who lists every book they've ever read in their life to make themselves look good, but one of my absolute favorite books I read recently was The Intelligent Woman's Guide to Socialism and Capitalism by George Bernard Shaw, so that one took up a lot of space.

If the book is somewhat obscure, you should put the author. For books that are well known, it's not really necessary.

Hey, I have a very urgent question. If I am applying ED, does Columbia need to see my first quarter grades from senior year? I'm just wondering because I'm under so much stress, and I'm afraid that my A's will suddenly become B's, which will ruin my upward trend...

I'm doing ED, too, at the college. Would you guys mind posting your SATs just so I can see where I stack up?

yeah i'm wondering about the first quarter grades too. my guidance counselor says it looks good if you take the initiative to send them, but i'm guessing that's only if you do really well, and i'm also worried about a couple of classes that may have gone from A's to B's this year. what is everyone else doing?
