Your analogy fails at least because it takes a similar amount of time for me to post something in my own way that's correct as it does for you to post something in your own way that's also correct. Thus, the spending time wandering the streets hyperbole doesn't fly.

Actually, it is you Col2002 who fails to understand the point of the analogy. After reading this board for months, it is clear to me that you have a good information base and often provide a useful perspective. Unfortunately, your social judgment is questionable. Your need to criticize often outweighs any value you might be able to add to the discussion. Has anyone ever commented to you that you that they think you are insensitive, or sometimes have difficulty perceiving social cues, or over-react emotionally in a way that is offputting to others? I think you have something to add to the board but you should think a minute before posting. Otherwise, most of us think you are just showing your ass.

I'd argue that he's more like Jon Stewart on Crossfire.

Denz: that was beautiful. that's quite possibly one of the best analogies you've come up with. Ever.

You've got to take C02 with a salt shaker. Once you do, he's kinda funny--foaming mouth et al

It's amusing, but it's getting tiresome to have to put C2002 'in context' with a big apologetic explanation every time he offends another new forum poster with his attitude..

My post wasn't a commentary on keyboarding speed. It was describing the general attitude which you bring to posting, and the exasperation many around here feel as a result of that posting.

the fact of the matter is, regardless of what I said above, I agree with you. There is a time and place for being dismissively condescending. It's just that his view is that the time is all the time, and that place is everywhere.

note: male pronouns used out of ignorance. At least one Columbia admissions officer believes C02 to be female.

Columbia 2002 is really a troll. He posts obnoxiously to deter high quality applicants from applying to Columbia by trying to make them think that Columbia is full of people like him. Ignore what he says -- don't respond.
