Jesus Christ, the guy was just asking for advice. Some of the people on CC need to get the cork out of their asses.

I would say, to be honest, that your chances of transfering to either NYU or Columbia from Pace are rather slim, since I'm willing to bet that a lot of the transfer applications they get come from either Pace or Fordham. But, of course, you should always go for it. Get excellent grades, involve yourself in as many extra curricular activities as possible, get wonderful recommendations from your professors, and you never know. Good luck!

immature.

Columbia2002, you are incredibly immature. I am attending Pace University, majoring in Accounting and in the honors college. I am by no means dumb, as you imply by students who attend Pace. I graduated from high school with a 3.8 gpa and 1910 sat score and received great scholarships. Just because a school has a higher acceptance rate doesn't mean the education is bad. I have friends who have graduated Pace and landed jobs in the Big Four, making well over 60K. Then again, I have friends who have graduated from NYU, majoring in nonsense, and currently unemployed, raking in debt from their massive loans. It's what you do after college that matters, but obviously the brand name of the university is all that matters to you.

I have to say, Columbia2002 was a jerk, but the OP did say "expected." It just seems like the OP's command of English was poor. English is also my fourth language, so I can understand, but, in this case, it seemed as if it wasn't a poor attention to grammar, but rather, a misunderstanding of it. My two cents, stop making fun of the jerk. He had a valid point, albeit, communicated it poorly/immaturely.

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

Do you know about correlation, causation, necessary and sufficiency, etc.? Or even basic reading comprehension. Or about straw men.

All I said in this thread was that Pace isn't a selective university and it's not impressive that one achieved admission there. That's it.

My, it sounds like Columbia2002 needs to move on with his life, rather than linger around a forum for kids and their parents.

jjatt, good for you! You are doing well in getting into Pace, especially as English is not your mother language. Concentrate on learning as much as you can and get help with your writing - lots of college students need to polish theirs - with the goal of trying to transfer at some point. I am sure Pace has a writing center for free help, all colleges seem to have them.

Good luck!

I wouldn't be shocked given that some not-so-bright people slip through the cracks and manage to get into Columbia. And the fact that one would pay money to attend Pace Law (assuming they did) shows a further lack of intelligence.
