Help with CU Application Process?

1) So currently I'm on application part 1. I'm trying to invite my teachers via e-mail as soon as possible -- is this possible without having submitted part 1 / app fee yet?

2) Also, in part 1, there's a section called "preliminary question" but when I click on it, it just tells me that I HAVE to answer the question. (Perhaps it means part 1?) Unfortunately, the question is nowhere to be found. What is going on?

3) What is the Columbia-Julliard Exchange? Do most students who Apply to SEAS apply for this? (Feel free to skip this question. I'm just being lazy on this one...)

4) When it asks me to list extracurriculars in order of preference from the list, what are they looking for? I mean a lot of items on the list interest me. For example, I do a lot of community service because I'm passionate about helping others, but that's already well reflected in my application--would they rather have me put "outdoor adventures" or things I do to relax, etc?

I haven't posted in a long time but the pure absurdity of the OP made me itch to reply.

Have you heard of the Juilliard School? It is one of the best conservatories in the world. No, most people who apply to the SEAS do not apply to the Juilliard exchange, unless they are phenomenal musicians (and phenomenal musicians would know what the Juilliard School is).
