My teachers have been taking a longggg time writing my recs. Can I still send my recs even after the deadline?

I'm pretty sure you can't. Just tell them the day you want to send the application by, and ask them to complete it by that date, if possible. When I asked my teachers for their recommendations, I told them that I wanted to send my application by October 24th, and asked them to finish the recs by then.
