For the application in "Interests": List, or List and Describe?

It says to list the required readings, books... and then later list the films/concerts/exhibitions, you enjoyed... Do you list them, or can you put some descriptions in parentheses? Thanks in advance.

Edit: they give you 300 characters for them.. I can list about 30 or I can list only 8 and describe a little for each

Edit2: should i list years for films and authors for books as well? Thanks

Edit3: I think I'm OCD, do we need to use up all the 300 characters? Can I just list 5 since it asks you for the books you prefer MOST. If I list all, it feels like I'm just listing out what I read...

hahahahhahah it's so funny that people are viewing this but not replying

ok I simply listed the names of the books/films/everything else that I enjoyed. I was thinking about at least naming the authors but I decided not to.

ahhh i'm having the same problem! for the books that i read for pleasure, i only listed about 6 or 7 because a. i simply have not ever had the time in high school to "read for pleasure" L0L and b. one cannot be expected to enjoy every single book that they have read

if i were you, i would definitely use up as much as space as possible without appearing to be trying too hard for the required readings as well as the films/plays/shows/exhibits question!

I listed them and included authors in parentheses. It asks you to list what you enjoyed MOST, so if it's only 5 books, then so be it. Some people read a lot and enjoy 30 books, others have a smaller selection. In my case, I listed almost every book I read for pleasure and almost every concert, movie, and exhibit I went to because I wouldn't have kept reading/gone to see the movie, concert, or exhibit if I didn't enjoy it.

Edit: And who cares if you use up every character? So long as you express your interests should it matter whether you do it in 30 characters or in 300 characters?

I have a quick question relating to this too! It says to list required readings from the past year, but can I list required reading I liked from Sophomore and Freshman year?

I wouldn't, but it's not like they can prove that you weren't required to read it this past year.

i wrote a few from sophomore year just cuz they were such good books.

by the way, for the "performances" section, i had about 10 movies, 1 concert, and 2 tv shows. no museums or exhibits or actual shows... lol

I made lists with the authors names for the books. I didn't use the 300 characters, just listed the ones I genuinely loved. For the entertainment I enjoyed, I had about 5 or 6 musicals, art exhibit, and 2 movies.
