Okay thank you guys a lot. This relieves stress. I haven't been able to sleep much these days I'm so worried....... and I read over my essay and it sucks so much. Sigh...
Dude don't worry about it. I totally understand you because I misspelled a word too.
I freaked out when I discovered it but there is really nothing
you can do about it. I mean the app is done and submitted. You
cannot go back and change. So let's just calm down and accept the situation.
Who knows you might get accepted regardless. Even if you don't
there are thousands of colleges who might want you.
Give their admissions office a call. They're all customer service reps so it's not going to affect your application. Ask them how much it makes a difference. I don't know if they'll be able to tell you, but it's better than nothing, right?
I doubt they're going to care about, or even notice, a small error like that. They read the apps so fast that it's almost irrelevant from what they're looking for.
Hopefully man! I'm a real worry wart when it comes to Columbia. But what ****es me off the most is I feel like my essay totally sucks ass. Hopefully my stats (except CR....shieeet) and gpa and ED and everything else is enough.
I think my only problems are these 2 typos, my 690 CR score, and my average essay. Sigh... sorry for being such a baby guys..haha
It depends. You're an early decision applicant so they may smile upon you. But in general, an admissions officer will not look kindly at a collection of errors such as that. One error? No big deal. But multiple ones is troubling. The reality of it is that your essay is what matters, and if that isn't good enough then you're in trouble.
Okay thanks for your input. I feel that all I can do from here is just wait, assume the worst and hope for the best:] there is really nothing I can do. Except start on my regular applications because I will most likely get rejected hahaha!
