Do teachers know recommendations are supposed to be general?

Title.

Does the Common App teacher recommendation email mention anywhere that teachers are NOT supposed to mention specific colleges?

Unless you go to a school where you are one of the few kids to apply for college, the teachers should know what to do. Also, they had to have applied to colleges at some time, and had to get recommendation letters.

Contrary to what kids think, teachers are not that stupid.

I think every teacher knows that they shouldn't be specific when it comes to recommendation letters, but if you have any doubts, you should ask your teacher about it.

Within the School Officials account, it specifically says to make all recommendations non-school specific.
