Submission sent on time but Common App reads it as next day

edited October 2013 in Common Application
My daughter submitted her Common App at 11:25PM or so, and we got an email from the Common App site that she had paid. She signed the signature page and submitted the supplement as well. She checked on the site and saw two green checks, one for submitting the Common App and one for the supplement.

Both were done before midnight, but now when we look at her Common App site, it reads that they were submitted the next day!

What should we do? How do we prove we submitted them on time now?

Thanks.

Unfortunately, the common app time is set for eastern time only, so it accepts deadlines as EST. That may be the case.

Next day or not, your daughter is fine. Schools will be understanding, especially because of the CA issues and fiascos this year.

Definitely do not stress about this. All colleges, even the most selective, are eager to get applications and review them. The school will certainly not reject your D because of this and she will be treated the same as if the CA accepted her app the prior day.

okay I'm an international too and that was bothering me

there is no mention in the common app or anywhere about that o.O

    Hi all,
Just called the university, UNC. It seems to have been a common problem and they said on the phone they would accept it with a 10/22 date.
    Phew!
I guess it's one more Common App glitch. From now on, we're going to try to get them in with time to spare, because who knows whether another college will be as accommodating. (Although one girl wrote on the school's admission blog that she submitted at 8:30PM and it still registered as the next day, so how early to submit is still an open question.)

Deadline for scores vary from school to school. Some require to be received by deadline while others have a grace period. In any case, you should send your score as soon as possible as there is a 1-2 weeks of processing time.

Go to the website of each school to see what the school policy is on accepting test scores. As billcsho told you above, the deadline for scores varies from school to school.
