Once I submitted an application for a school, can I change the main CommonApp essay for other schools? I would like to send different essays to different schools.

some schools have there seperate essay in the supplemental, but if the schools you are applying dont have supplemental essays than you cant have different common apps essays.

Yes you can. Read the instructions on the common app site about creating alternate versions (I think it's listed under "Instructions").
