Letters of Recommendation

I understand that the rule of thumb is to submit one letter from a math/science teacher and one letter from an English/social science teacher. However, I would really rather submit letters from two English teachers or an English and a psychology teacher, because those teachers are much stronger writers and know me a lot better, and I also want to go into a social science, so I feel that their evaluations are more valuable.

I'm not hiding any sort of weakness in math/science, as I got 800's on Physics, Bio, and Math II and 5's on Chem, Physics B, Bio, and CalcAB. I'm wondering if, given the circumstances, I will be able to get away with not submitting a math/science letter.

The commonapp schools I am applying to, by the way, are HYPS.
