Misdemeanor-Common App?

On the common app there's a spot where you select if you've ever been found guilty of a misdemeanor, felony, or other crime. What does that consist of?

Traffic tickets, MIP's (drinking under the age), .... ??
Are they asking what cases would still be on your record or if you have EVER been convicted of anything?
