Perhaps it caused by using a mac, but the fields that ask for occupation seem to be looking for specific titles. Put in consultant (my job), I get nothing. Same for "computer". Banking gets a goose egg.

Instead of playing "guess what we are thinking", anyone know where there is a list of valid occupations for the common application? Would rather just eyeball it and then enter in the keyword to select the right one.

I don't know if there's a list, but I suggest searching for "Other" and see if anything that comes up is related to your field of work.
I had to do that when no keyword worked for a parent's job, and ended up getting something at least loosely connected to it, followed by 'other'.

Thanks. Was able to get through on Other and find something close, but they really should fix this. If you don't view the world through their keywords, you might get the wrong answer.
