When should I send my SAT scores to colleges?

edited August 2010 in Common Application
I have listed all my scores on the common application, however I know colleges want a full score report as well. Should I send in my SAT scores before I submit the actual application or at the same time I am submitting my application? I am applying to basically all the Ivy Schools and I wanted to just send all of them my scores at the same time, if that's possible. Thanks!

There's really no difference if you send them before or after your applications.

but if it takes 5 weeks to process scores, will colleges get them too late if I send them at the end of december with the rest of my application?

I already sent all my scores to all my colleges even though I'm nowhere close to getting any of my applications done. IMO it's better to do it now because it probably takes a long time for them to get/process the scores from tens of thousands of applicants. You can always send any additional tests you take later. It's better to be safe than sorry.

Haha well I still need to retake the SAT I this October. And apparently I have to do a physics subject test so I will do that in December. No rush for me :)

I am a litle confised by the statement that it takes 5 weeks tp process SAT scores. I am planning to take then for the LAST time on 10/2 so I should have my scores by 10/12. I am applying early action to several schools with an 11/1 deadline. Are you saying that my SAT scores won't be processed in time?

Each school gives their deadlines for when to take the SAT or ACT for ED, EA, RD, whatever. Check the websites. It might say something like "if you're applying early decision, the last day to take the SAT is the October testing date" in which case you would be fine.

could someone help me understand how this works?

so you send in your SAT scores from Collegeboard. how does the university match up those scores with your application, which would be sent in later? i don't understand this whole process.

^The score report you send contains your name, address, birthdate, etc. Colleges use this to match your score report with your application.
