Transferring Question

Hello, I am currently a senior in high school and I have to decide if im going to go to a junior college and transfer to a 4 year or go to a 4 year right off the bat. My problem is that I can't get federal aid(for now) so paying for a 4 year would be extremely hard.
Many people have suggested the junior college route but I was also told that transferring to a 4 year from a jc is extremely hard. I just wanted to ask everyones' opinion on this matter. Is transferring hard? What are the cons of going to a junior college first?
I have a 4.0 acad weighted gpa if that helps with the question haha

Where do you want to go if it were a 4-year?

I believe transferring gets difficult if the JC/4-year are in different states, have no agreement, have little transferable courses, and/or the 4-year is extremely competitive to begin with.

A con of going to a JC may be, what some may say, you lose the "college experience," whatever that is. If you ask me, that sound childish since there is no one "college experience" and you make what you put into your school life either way.

I live in california

UCI or Cal poly pomona

that is not hard. there is even a transfer agreement you can sign for UCI. As long as you get like a 3.0 you will be in. Cal Poly isnt that hard of a school to get into. Well all of this is depending on your major. Some majors are more impacted than others which might make it harder to transfer. You go to cc and work your butt off and you can transfer almost anywhere. Go see a counselor early and get your plan all mapped out!

I was sort of in the same boat.... (4.1 in HS, super involved, got accepted to great schools- LMU USC but my heart wasn't into any of them) I'm at a JC right now hoping to transfer to a school that will be a better fit for me- Vandy, ND. Honestly it sucks, but I'm hoping one day it will be worth it. Financially I know it will be, mainly because I know I'll end up at grad school. I wish you the best of luck its an extremely difficult decision :/
