You'll get the slackers at any community college you go to. Come to Mt sac and hang out with all the Mexicans

@vtlord - regardless of race...you'll get slackers everywhere. i wouldnt say any sort of race is any more lazy than the other...otherwise you'll just fall into a self-fulfilling prophecy.

id suggest you visit both campuses and see for your self what its like. i think they are a pretty big difference in terms of the people you will find. PCC is a much nicer campus IMO compared to mtsac.

and generally all CCs are about the same from what i know. some CCs have special contracts with certain UCs etc. i believe berkeley has a contract with its local CC to have those as priority. you'll be fine wherever you go as long as you do well though

All of the people in my classes tend to be incredibly hard workers, without regard of race. I also tutor and I can tell you that most of the students who want to be there will fight to get good grades.
tl;dr if you're going into math/physics/chemistry/bio/engineering then you won't be surrounded by slackers, you'll be surrounded by competitive people who will be disappointed when they get a 98% on a test.

wow, got goosebumps reading these acceptances haha...

congrats to the both of you jet and blackmamba!!!
super stoked for you two.

UCLA is going to be great

as a side note...
blackmambas first post was on
04-06-2010, today is 4/21/12
thats 2 years to transfer

as a bio major getting into UCLA, thats pretty damn good considering it takes a long time to get classes for hard science majors.

and jet getting into UCLA as a math major...probably just as hard since mtsac is just packed with people trying to get math classes.

congrats dudes!

will you two be going to the mtsac transfer/honors ceremonies? or both?
if you do let me know when they are, ill be sure to make it to congratulate you!

Thanks! I'm haven't really heard anything about the ceremonies, so I guess it really just depends when they are. I'll see if I can find out any more info in the coming weeks.

Hello everyone, high school senior here that wants to apply to the summer term. I am in the WVUSD and also in the Connect 4 program for the fall term. The orientation for the Connect 4 program is set tentatively around May 30-June 15, will this be too late for an orientation for the summer term? Also, how many classes can I expect to get during the summer as incoming freshman? Thank you for your time, and I apologize if this question has been asked before.
