I'm not sure if i've asked this already but when does income freshmans begin to choose their classes for next year? i also remember taking a placement test back in early march and getting a 90 on the blue math test (second test out of four tests) should i take the next hardest placement test?
EDIT: A few moments ago I tried to log on to myportal and my account has been disabled after a few attempts on entering my password. I was told to contact the system admin , do you know where I can contact this person?

ok thank you! I am going to work my butt off next semester! Also, mtsac just released Summer 2012 classes. I find it really upsetting because the catalog is so small, and there are barely any classes! I'm so worried about not being able to get Chem 40! It looks like I will have to fight for classes again |

@vtlord - when you say next year im assuming your talking about fall 2012 and registration for that semester is generally early august/late july , im not sure of the exact date just yet.
and if you feel like you can go even higher for the math placement tests, by all means do it. you'll save urself the time and money.
and as to the failed log in attempts im not quite sure..
try calling the student services center

Did you have the option of taping Berkley? Or only UCLA? Also, van you tap and tag? Ex. tap UCLA, tag.ucr in. the same transfer window

TAP is priority, not guarantee. I'm not a humanities major, so TAP wasn't really worth it. (You need to complete like five honors courses, but pretty much none of the honors courses are for math/science/engineering majors). I believe you can TAP and TAG.

Hello new student here. I just want to ask if it's hard to get classes for summer term? I am planning to take a few science classes (anatomy, bio) but I've heard that it's near impossible for new students to even register for class due to the budget cut. Thanks!

Thanks, Dainese! I'm still kind of in a daze from it all. I'm also a little sad to leave Mt. SAC - it's been a good two years

Sup guys, how did you know what it was you wanted to pursue?
Im in a dilemma between Econ and Mechanical Eng. and the pre-reqs are quite different from one another, Grrrr...
If i do the Econ i can get into Honors and qualify for a tap, but i see alot of the UCLA and UCB transfers for Econ have 4.0s. That might be a little bit of a stretch for me.
MechE- Harder, but cooler.
Econ- Easier, but might be difficult to transfer with a perfect 4.0
I'm 26, i still don't know exactly what i want to do. It's embarassing, it really is!
...Help?

For me it was a case of passion and ability. I really can't imagine doing anything else; I know what I have a future in doing so I chose it to be my major.

I made a thread, but I guess I'll post here just in case.
How hard is it to get into classes like Bio 1, Chem 14, Anatomy 35 and 36, Microbiology 1 or 22, and Nutrition and Food 25? I'm not a freshman looking to get an AA or to transfer. I'm trying to do pre reqs for MSN programs.
Also, how difficult are these classes? I know at UCLA, for instance, the equivalent of those classes, especially microbiology and anatomy, are pretty difficult. There's a bell curve where top 1/3 gets A to B+, and then the bottom 1/2 where everyone else gets B- or C+ and below.

hey sorry for not seeing your thread!
i usually only check my own since its a lot easier..
but i believe classes at mtsac arent quite comparable to classes taken at UCLA.
i think they're much easier.
but that could just be me and my study ethics back then which may have changed now...lol
any other opinions?
