Can we get a quote button? I know it's available in vBulliten....please? Take a look at the features that forums.slickdeals.net has....all the quoting features and the bbcodes and smilies. Can we get that here?

We don't enable the quote feature to avoid excessive repetition and quoting. On forums that have it, it's not uncommon to see someone quote an entire five-paragraph post made by someone else and add a one-line comment.
The other behavior easy quoting encourages is one member dissecting another members post and refuting it point by point. These kinds of discussions are rarely productive and are often annoying to the person being dissected.
So, it's still possible to quote if you need to, as shaddix describes, but we encourage you NOT to quote unless it's essential to understand YOUR post.

however, most people on here do not ever reference which post they're responding to, causing varying degrees of confusion. nothing we can do about that, you'd think that's common sense, but we all know there's nothing as uncommon as common sense... |

| i totally agree
for instance, i just said "i totally agree". if we didn't have a quote feature, you would think i'm agreeing with Jonathan K...even though I was really agreeing with matt330ci.
