| Deleted Threads?
Why do you guys delete certain threads? I had a thread which my name was in, I bragged to my boys about it, then it got deleted and I looked like a wackjob! (I just loved it that I could google "greatest americans" and my name popped up!) Please restore that deleted thread! I have cheese crackers, and cheese sticks! Give me this at least.
PS: I know this is a futile effort, but money is not an issue.

Threads are removed if they are way off topic for the forum or for CC as a whole. Sometimes a thread will be removed because the majority of the posts are problematic (contain email addresses, links, flames, etc.) and it would be to time-consuming to edit many posts or sort out the few good posts from the rest. Whenever possible, our mods will attempt to save a good thread by moving it to the appropriate forum or by editing/deleting individual posts. Sometimes, though, a thread heads south so quickly it isn't practical to salvage.

I think that it would benefit everyone if you (and all mods) would just "lock" threads instead of deleting them altogether, because oftentimes there is a lot of useful information in deleted threads, even if they were argumentative.

We'll lock a thread if it is headed in a bad direction but has been mostly OK, or if the discussion is getting repetitive with little new information being added.

Do you ever lock individual posters out of a thread? What happened to the "I am a failure thread"?

The most recent Musical Theater Threads are now in the Musical Theater Majors forum under the College Majors Forum.

I was wondering if it was possible to un-delete threads (restore them)? Because I think that a thread was deleted because it was assumed that it contained trivial posts due to its title, while it actually contained pertinent information regarding admissions.

Calidan, it is possible to undelete SOME threads.
Please note, however, that any questions having to do with moderation should be handled via e-mail or PM. If you wish to discuss the particular thread I deleted, you can e-mail me. I tried to send you a response to your PM but had system trouble getting it sent.
