Its no fun when I've typed up a long post and by the time I click submit, I've been logged off (due to inactivity, I guess, even though I've been typing). I log in and/or go back, and my text is gone.
Be sure you aren't blocking cookies - it sounds like your session is timing out. Click "remember me" when you log in. Until you solve the problem, use Ctrl-C to copy your post (IE) to your clipboard before submitting it. That way, you can repaste it and try again.
