Why can a mod edit a post?

I am just curious.

I called someone a ninny on another thread, and my post was edited by doveofpeace for name calling. I do not mind that my post was flagged for calling someone a ninny, because a ninny is someone who is a nag and that is not really nice or anything for another person to be. Sincerly, I do not mind that my post was edited.

It is funny to me that some-one's post can be edited because of the word ninny, since the word ninny is a 1950's slang term. That makes me think that this site is okay, because at least the younger folks on this site do not have to worry over anything that is actually vulgar and cruel.

They just want to keep the site clean. Yeah, ninny is an old term that isn't considered particularly offensive, but if they let you use that term, they'd have to let someone else use a "slang term" that might be even more flagrant.

snoopyiscool, my "cousin", it is alright. I am not one for vulgar things. It is just a little funny to me that the word ninny was edited. I like how this site is nice and clean and your logic is great, btw. If I was a naturally mean, nasty person, I would not instinctively use a word like ninny, you know what I mean?

How do you make your smiley? Do you mind me asking?

Yeah. it's like at school: if a teacher lets you do something, they have to let everyone else do it.

My smiley is a period, hyphen, underscore, hyphen, and period.
