Space for a "hook" or comments. Sometimes these add nothing but sometimes they are really helpful in evaluating information.
I suspect the profiles will become much more helpful as they accumulate. Will there be a way to see results for a particular year and then to see overall cumulative results for all the years for which the information has been collected?

I think I posted this in the wrong thread? Well, anyway, here it is again:
A couple of issues/suggestions:
1. As a parent, I "represent" two kids. I only have one CC name. I input S#2's results for this year but have posted a ton in the past about S#1's schools/issues and so on. There's no way to post two kids' results for one screen name. :/
2. Merit money played a significant role in why S#2 will be attending the school chosen, but there's no way to communicate that. Perhaps add a field for scholarships/grants, through a "tick" box for "scholarship" yes/no, Merit or need $ boxes, and/or a text box to type in amount of money awarded would be great!
3. Please add "The College of New Jersey" to the drop down box? Thanks!
4. Once a search is completed, it appears to be listed in order of submission, which isn't too helpful to those who are reading the list. Maybe list by admission status or at least alphabetical order of the posters? As it is, it's sort of a mish-mash.
THANK YOU! This is a great addition to CC!

Roger has a good point with loooking at members stat profiles from their information page. Also, we should be able to search for specific members and their stat profiles, that would help me identify special cases and students who got in on "hooks".

I think you should add an ethnicity field.

I second that! Ethnicity would be good, as would be a place to self-rate ECs and academic awards as poor, fair, good, excellent ( I realize listing specific ECs would be impractical). And perhaps family income and geographic residence would be good.

I posted a thread a while ago, but I never saw this one. Anyway, I will post what I said:
The stats profiles thing is really cool, and a great idea. but, i think a few improvements need to be made. maybe somebody is already working on this, i don't know. this is just what I think would be helpful.
1. Another category for In-state/Out of state. This is important for state schools where admissions heavily depends on state residence. This would go next to ED/ED, legacy, and athlete. I think people would click on this more often than they would say what their state of residence is. and, you can list it as an option in the search.
2. On the list of profiles for a school, you should be able to sort by a category.
e.g. I want to list all the people in order of from highest to lowest SAT Math scores.
3. On the list, you should be able to change the categories listed. I don't want to see just SAT, class rank, and GPA. Maybe I want to see ACT scores too.
I think if these changes were made, it would be much more helpful to me. and less time consuming.

Let's say a student wants to see the profiles of students accepted at Stanford 2011. If they do this search, they WON'T see the profiles of students who "Will attend," Stanford, even though this implies they were Accepted. Would there be a way to fix this? For example, searches for "accepted," would also display, "will attend"s?

The member must change "accepted" to "will attend" if he/she decides on that school. We can't change it automatically since we can't guess which school each member finally decides on.

i can't seem to get my stats profile to reflect that i am in the class of 2012 rather than 2011. i change it and push save, and it says "stats profile successfully saved", but then when i look at it, it either says 2011 or "7600". is anyone else having this problem?

What classes does the GPA include? Just the major academic core classes or sports, fine arts, yearbook, and other electives?

I wonder whether or not you've considered adding a Graduate or Transfer applicant stats function as well. Like the majority of the site, things seem to be imbalanced to suit the needs of undergrads...but as long-term members of the site change, their needs do too. Accomodate!

Collegedata.com is also an excellent resource that I utilized during my college search process and, perhaps, you could refer the students to that website. It has tons of student entering in their SAT scores and such and it can analyze your chances based on the test scores on your chances of getting in in context of the other students' scores...
