Having to continually "re-log" on

In the last couple of days, CC seems to have "forgotten" me. I need to continually re-log on in order to post, even though my computer is on all day. If I leave the CC site and come back to it, I have to log in again. I have checked my "cookies" setting and nothing has been changed to that setting or any other setting on this computer. I am the only one who uses it. Apparently, there is at least one other member who has mentioned having this same issue. Help, please.

Using Firefox, fuzzylogic, and as I've stated, this is a brand new issue, seemingly coming out of nowhere.

Yes, same here. I'm able to lurk, but have to continuously re-log on to post as well. Then, once I do, it times out/kicks me off very quickly. It's been doing this for several weeks now. I've grown tired of having to copy/paste my posts in order not to lose them so I don't bother contributing much on the threads these days.

this may seem really obvious, but are you sure that you checked "remember me" when you log in?

Yes, I keep checking and checking and checking "remember me" and it keeps forgetting and forgetting and forgetting. You get the pitcture. Thanks for trying, by the way. This does get really annoying and it is clear that I am not alone in this.

There is a sticky thread at the top of this forum for this issue.

Did you remove ALL of your cookies in FF?

AnthonyG,
I saw the sticky and followed it. It worked for a day and now I am back to the same thing. I will try it again. But tell me what FF refers to? I only removed the cookies specifically mentioned in the sticky.

Mine worked for a day and the cookies come back. I've taken to writing my posts in a word document and then trying to post very fast but even that does not work.

I've also tried three different browsers. I'm no computer expert but it does seem suspect that the cookies we are supposed to delete come back.

Are you sure you aren't blocking cookies? That would create a timed session that could end if you aren't active (e.g., typing a long post but not navigating around the site.) Some browsers are set (or can be set) to block cookies.

This is probably a dumb question, but are you clicking "remember me" when you log in?

Not blocking cookies, Roger and yes, clicking "remember me" when I log in. I had been asked those questions previously. It seems to be working again at the moment. We'll see what happens tomorrow.

Me too, I check off "remember me", remove the culprit cookies and they keep coming back. It works for a while and then I'm back to square one.

I'm using Camino but have had the same problem with Safari and Explorer.
