Any hatred against Korean-Americans?

First of all, I'm deeply sorry for the families of victims who suffered losses. After the

identification of shooter was turned out to be a 23-year-old South Korean native Cho

Seung Hui. I was shocked about the fact that one Korean guy had done this heinous

shooting which caused 33 innocent people in VT dead. When I learned about the

incident, I was like what kind of psycho would do something like that? And when that

psycho turned out to be one of my people, my opinion of that “psycho” was

dramatically changed. Before the details of shooter except for the fact that shooter

was released, I, including other Korean citizens in South Korea, was hoping the

shooter wasn’t from my native country; I was hoping that shooter was from other

countries from Asia because if that shooter was from my country, It could cause the

possibilities of possible terrors on innocent Korean-Americans just because we

were “Koreans.” I hope you people remember the L.A riot, where innocent Korean-

Americans suffered the losses of their lives, properties, and hopes by African-

Americans who were allegedly harmed by Korean- Americans. Yeah I know what you

guys are thinking; we Koreans are always innocent no matter what we do to you

people, but the fact is we never do any harm to you. We Korean Americans are just

like any other immigrants living in the United States, living on the brink of an ice which

can be cracked any time by a little breeze. I just want to say that please do not

think that we are same people as Cho was. I wish there won’t be any grudge or

hatred in you people against Korean-Americans. God bless, again my deepest

condolences to the victims of this heinous shooting.

I'm part asian as well and i dont think theres gonna be any discrimination against asians or korean-americans.. Americans are smart, understanding and fair people.. They know that the fact that one korean went crazy doesnt make all of them crazy... I know for a fact that there wont be change in the average American's attitude towards a korean after this sad incident...

Fortunately, I don't think we'll see any problems here at CC or at colleges in general. The shooter wasn't trying to make a political or religious statement, strike a blow for some kind of nationalistic cause, or anything else that might provoke a reaction. He was just a disturbed individual, and they come in all shapes, sizes, colors, and nationalities.
