APPEAL: Add Gender to Poster Information

We have Posts and Location - can we PLEASE add Gender? I'm tired of being mistaken for a guy, and I've mistaken many other people's genders. It's annoying being called "dude" or being referred to as "he". Could you please add a Gender field to our profiles, and make it show up in the poster information that accompanies every post we make?

Thanks.

I second the appeal. Not very often have I been accused of being a guy (look at my name), but once in a while I have. And countless times I have mistaken others for being what they aren't.

Like TheOneCurlyFry. I used to think she was a guy, but look at that! I was wrong. And I don't like being wrong.

Yeah, especially since I basically assume everyone is a guy unless they specifically say they are a girl. It really would be nice to know.

yeah, i am so sick of messing up peoples genders. i know there is a gender thing in the stats profile but it would be really nice to have it right there with the location and everything.

This is now in the standard user profile. You can choose Female, Male, or Unsure/Unknown/Not Saying. Making it show up in the post user info won't happen right away as it will take some coding.

Any way to make it so Gender doesn't show up when I post? I hate adding bulkiness.

I changed the gender selection thru the usercp from radio buttons to checkbox, highlight the current selction and then press the spacebar once to deselect it, do not check anything, this will cause the gender field to not show in your posts with nothing selected.
