high school AP course vs. community college course NEED HELP!!!

Hey everyone, ok so i took normal chem in sophomore year in and then chem AP in my junior year in high school but got a D in it..second semester I dropped it. I was wondering if i should take a general chemistry course in a community college to make up for my D in AP chem. After all the community college class comes under college course right?
