Trouble with Forums- Lots of 404s

I don't know if anyone else is having this issue, but I'm having severe troulbe looking at anything right now (Nov.3, since about 4:30 CT). If I don't seem to track something down just right, then it gives me a 404. The web addresses seem to be the issue, as they're tracking to differently "formatted" addresses- instead of the Chances forum loading forumid=? or whatever, its going to "what-my-chances". Same thing's happening for threads. Is this a server update or what?

EDIT- It doesn't seem to be happening right now- apparently was fixed, I suppose...

Should be OK, please post if the problems are still occurring.

I am getting these issues too. I usually have to refresh the page several times for it to reload.

I keep getting a "Redirection limit for this URL exceeded" message when I try to access the Columbia forum....I have been out of town but my first experience with this was last night and it continues today.

I was getting that and my son suggested I exit Firefox and now I am here using Safari. do you have Firefox? I am wondering if it is related to Firefox? I am trying to pinpoint the problem. Mine just started last night.

"The page isn't redirecting properly" Error Message

I get a "The page isn't redirecting properly" error message when I try to access certain CC forums (most often the Harvard Forum, but sometimes others) from the links on the main College Discussion page. It hasn't happened EVERY time, but it has happened a lot over the last two days.

I can't always get to the Harvard Forum by the numerical forum address

http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/...splay.php?f=29

either. The site must have extensively changed how forums are designated when it implemented the new user-friendly URLs. Harvard Forum is the forum giving me the most access trouble.

We're doing some work on the servers. We'll keep an eye on this. Thanks.

The Harvard forum is very selective. Fewer than one out of ten page requests is accepted as valid.

That's my LOL of the day. I have to keep in mind that visiting that forum a lot doesn't necessarily increase an applicant's odds of being admitted.

I'm having a somewhat different problem. I can't seem to access the last page on a particular thread (College With A Baby in the Parents Forum). When I click on the next page number, I get this timeout error message:

Fatal error: Maximum execution time of 120 seconds exceeded in /var/www/localhost/htdocs/includes/functions.php(4946) : eval()'d code on line 67

I've tried accessing it by clicking the Last Post icon but that doesn't work, either. I deleted my temporary Internet files in case I had a corrupted file - that didn't help. Any suggestions?

Yeah, I've been having trouble with the Ivy League forums: Yale, Columbia, and Harvard -- no surprise here, I suppose?

There is an corruption issue in the Baby thread. We're working on it. Not sure if there are any remaining issues in the Ivy forums. How long ago were you seeing this, QuixoticRick?

My "redirection" error with the Columbia forum is resolved. Thanks, oh magic computer beasties!
