Please add SUNY New Paltz

I have been trying to get SUNY New Paltz listed in the colleges section for a while now to no avail. I have spoken to others who want it too and have asked for it. Would it be possible to add this school? I think there is a need on the forum. It was voted Best small state school in the country by Newsweek.

Lily -- I think there is suitable interest in the SUNY system as a whole to add a generic "SUNY -- General" section, just as there is a sub-forum for "University of California -- GENERAL." I don't believe there is suitable interest here yet for a sub-forum dedicated specifically for New Paltz. If you check out the thread in the "Admissions" forum there is a thread asking what schools CCers have applied to, or will be applying to. Only 1 poster so far has indicated that they will apply to SUNY New Paltz. A counter argument to that would be that such schools as Denison, Elon,

Evergreen State, Mt. Holyoke, Knox, Muhlenburg and St. Mary's of Maryland -- which people discuss on CC all the time -- have only one CCer applying as of now.

There may be more than one person applying to NP, but only one listed. I don't rememebr if I added my S to the list, but he is applying as a transfer. I think if SUNY Purchase can have its own forum, then New Paltz certainly deserves one. This is not to say that the other schools you mentioned don't deserve forums as well. I think NP is a very up and coming school and will be of more and more interest to potential students.
