I've had similar problems... especially when I click "submit" on a post, it takes a VERY long time to actually post onto the thread.

We've been experiencing heavy traffic which has caused some slow load times. We upgraded the software last night, and will continue to tweak the software and server for maximum performance.
We're seeing a record number of members visiting each day, and are working to keep performance up to our usual snappy standard. Thanks for your patience!

I am experiencing increasing slowness. I'm sure the volume of traffic on the site is incredible. I am on a very high speed connection (at work) and could barely get response from the server today. Thanks.

I don't have a lightning quick server, but it isn't too shabby, and it's very slow. I am forced to double click submit, because then it submits faster, and I just back-tab to the page I want from the "submit once every 60 secs page" I don't really mind as long as you're doing something about it.

it's going so slow for me that my browser actually tells me that the page can't be displayed sometimes. everyone must be getting nervous about the decisions!

Not only is it crawling slow for me, my screen is shifted to the right. making it impossible to see what I am typing. Sorry if there are misspelled words in this post. |

What browser & screen resolution are you using, ecnerwalc3321? We haven't had complaints of this type.

netscape and 1400x 1050 pixels. I don't know, it's just slowing down way too much and when the page loads, I have this great gray screan with the button "is collegeconfidential on YOUR high school website?" *click*
then if I scroll over to the right, the posts will be all jumbled together and I can't read it all. It was starting to do that lately and before I hadn't had any trouble with it.

It's to the point where you don't wanna wait half an hour to post 2 messages so I just leave. Which may be a good thing for some of us |

I'm experiencing this slowness, too. I posted about it on the cafe. Sometimes I just want to log out since it's so slow, but I even have trouble logging out! lol

Sorry about the slow page loads - we tweaked the server and software earlier this week to the point where they were handling our heavier traffic fairly well, and then saw a 50% jump in activity today. That took us back to square one from a performance standpoint.
We are continuing to work on this, but we don't want to take the site down for a major upgrade during this busy time. We'll do what we can without major interruption of service! Thanks for your patience!
PS - as noted elsewhere, searching and functions that rely on searching (e.g., New Posts) may be turned off during heavy server load periods.

All the final acceptances/rejections are out so everyone is jumping on.
Good idea to take search etc, down on a temp basis while it is this slow.
