First, thanks to everyone who submitted their name for CC news editor!

We had some fantastic applicants, and trying to narrow the list down was next to impossible. But, we had to... and the members who will try to keep all of our members up to speed on what's going on in college admissions in 2008 are Sligh_Anarchist and Kayleigh_9109.

Both are members who have been at CC for a while and have an established body of posts, and both are current juniors who, along with many other CC members, are in the early phase of their college process. We expect that they will both discover and post some interesting content from the mainstream media, and will also help spot some quality discussions to feature on the home page or at the top of the forum they appear in.

Everyone can participate in this process, of course - particularly in spotting good threads. We have hundreds of forums here, so we rely on the members who participate in a particular topic to identify those threads that deserve to be highlighted either on the home page, or, more commonly, at the top of that forum. As new threads are featured, the old ones scroll into a permanent library for easy access by future readers. To recommend a thread for featuring, just use the "recommend" link under "thread tools." The types of threads that are the best candidates are timely news items as well as timely discussions that have produced some high quality commentary on a topic of interest to frequenters of a forum.
