| Hahaha that was the funniest thing ever. So dead on. Right now, I'm at the height of my addiction because it's just days before I get my decisions from colleges. Afterwards, who knows? |

| All you parents who think you're going to stop coming here once your kids have been accepted--just check out the Parent Cafe for great discussions on all sorts of things related to OUR lives. Face it--you're not going anywhere!!!!!!! |

| I can't remember what I did on the computer before I discovered cc. I spend a nearly equal amount of time on the net as I did before, I just can't remember what I did!!! It's a bit pathetic, actually.
Just like I always crack that I have no idea what my mother will talk about once I go off to college, because talking about the various admissions processes is her absolute favorite topic to discuss with family, friends, strangers, waitresses, bus drivers..... |

| Totally addicted. Sometimes, it keeps me from bothering my son, but sometimes, I think I bother him more with all the info I find out. He always gives me a dose of reality, though. "Mom, it's not statistical data, only anecdotal." and "Why do you think those people know anything about what admissions officers are looking for?" This last comment came when he was choosing courses for senior year and only chose 5 courses, one of them art. Students on CC were often taking 6 or 7 with 5 AP's so I was a bit nervous. Well, he's in at USC and UCSD. Maybe, you need the other level for HYP, but he didn't want those schools anyway.
Interesting to see the screen names I see all the time quoted in the article. I actually gave Hisgrace some advice once, and I was glad to see she ended up at Sonoma State. Seems like a good fit for her. |

| If I had had access to something like CC when I was looking for a college, I would have done a lot better. I was almost perfect for Rice and didn't even know that no one paid tuition there (back in the 50s) until a month before I enrolled at another college.
My folks had given me a tuition amount that they would cover. Rice fit their criterion (0 tuition), and I didn't even know about it. I did look at Stanford (too expensive) and the Ivy's were all-male and I did not want all-female.

Same here mamafish! Silly me for thinking that I'd stop coming here just once D1's was off to college. (Then again, there's a five year gap between my next two kids, so we'll see how I can rationalize coming here once D2 is in her first year of college.) |

| mythmom told me I didn't need any justification to keep coming here, so there you go--I always listen to mythmom. I guess it's my hobby now ha,ha. I have been able to be helpful to some of my friends because of what I've learned here, but I'm not a crack dealer--I always suggest they stay away from this site. |

| I feel like an addict for sure. I've quit going to every other msg board I used to frequent. But what I like is that everyone on here is pretty darn intelligent, even if I don't always agree with them. |

| Unfortunately I do feel a little like a crack dealer right now . . . I was at an NCAA game yesterday, when my phone buzzed, and it was my D asking me if I'd seen on CC that people were posting the receipt of merit awards for which she had competed. At a minimum I feel like I'm responsible for the loss of a last weekend of innocent optimism for her. |

| I wish I could quit you... DX But seriously, I've become such a junkie for this forum. Oh well, at least it can't get me high or pregnant. |
