subscribing to a thread

Is it possible to subscribe to a thread without posting to it? There have been threads that I have nothing useful to offer, but at the same time I would like to read posts made by others. When I am not subscribed to a post and I get behind reading after a few days, sometimes I overlook a thread I want to continue reading. I guess I could post a little something to allow me to subscribe, but I would rather not waste people's time with a nothing post.

At the top right of a thread, click "Thread Tools" and then "Subscribe to this Thread." No posting necessary!

raven001- Thank you so much; just what I needed. I don't think I have every noticed the Thread Tools option before. If I didn't, I just never paid it to much attention.

Thanks again!!

Subscribing to a thread means that you get e-mail updates whenever a new post is made to the thread. I use the "Daily Digest" feature, so every day I get one email summarizing all of the new posts in a particular thread.

It's a great feature.

what do i do if I don't want any notifications in the future?

Like, I always have to go to the subscription page and unsubscribe but is there a way to just automatically get all the threads unsubscribed?
my inbox is always 100% full because of cc!
