noisy pop-up ads on CC

Is anyone else being plagued with pop-up ads that beep incessantly? There is no way to get rid of them. When you click on what should be the "x" to delete, you are instead routed to an ad from some entity called the Consumer Opinion Bureau. These have surfaced in droves on CC over the last day. One is beeping away as I type this message! Are these driving anyone else nuts?

Are you sure you don't have adware? I've never had a pop-up on CC before.

I don't get any pop ups on CC either. It does sound like you may have an adware problem on your computer.

I just ran Adaware from Lavasoft, and it's still happening. I'll have to get my resident expert on the case, I guess.

Sounds like you may have a nasty bug/trojan/malware downloaded. Very annoying and difficult to get rid of. I ran Spybot and AdAware, found several items, and still had problems. Finally ran an antivirus (Avast) at boot-up and managed to rid myself of the crud.

Yep, time for a good virus/adware scan. We don't run any popups or popunders.
