Psat

It's almost time for semifinalist and commended notifications. Soon it will be October. Is there any chance of creating a PSAT subforum to make it easier to find PSAT discussion?

I thought the state cut-offs were going to be posted this week? Or did I mis-remember that?

A separate sub-forum would make it a lot easier to find this stuff out!

Maybe you can post un the SAT forum. They are closely-related, and I am sure it is full of PSAT questions about that time.

My reasons for making this request:

1. CC usually gets an influx of new posters searching for PSAT/NM information. Having a separate subforum would make it easier for them to find the information they are seeking.

2. PSAT-related posts are found under two different headings - under the overall "SAT and ACT Tests and Test Preparation" forum and the "SAT Preparation" subforum. It can get a little confusing to know which is the more appropriate venue for PSAT posts. There are also numerous National Merit postings in the Financial Aid forum.

PSAT Subforum - example why needed

Fireflyscout,

As a new member interested in the NMS cutoff scores, I find that the argument you laid out is spot on. So far, I've seen two separate threads - one in each of the 2 subforums you mentioned. Both have thousands of views after only a couple of days and will have thousands more shortly.

Strongly concur with your initiative. It would sure make it simpler for those of us interested in this subject area.

Search works for me.

After edit:

And search will work even better now that the main thread

PSAT Cutoff Scores for 2008 National Merit Semifinalists (H.S. '09)

has a more searchable title. The other thread has been closed, with redirects added as a last post, to avoid confusion.

I live in NJ but I attend boarding school in CT. What is the cut-off score for me? NJ or CT? Thanks.

See the other thread:

PSAT Cutoff Scores for 2008 National Merit Semifinalists (H.S. '09)

A lot of people haven't been notified yet, as the first post in that thread helpfully points out.
