Help! Need advice on how to help my son transition to college

We moved my son to a big University on Tuesday. By Thursday, he called and said that this is not the place he thinks he belongs. Yikes!!!!! It's a University that his Dad attended and feels that he only went there because he feels pressured into doing so. We don't feel this is true and even wanted him to apply elsewhere. He refused and was excited to attend. He met the "love of his life" 2 months after his application was in and by December when he was accepted to the University, he was questioning if he really wanted to attend or go to a smaller school where his girlfriend attends. I know that this is all a normal transition and he will have to get through this time. He claims he can never be happy with his girlfriend. It's his first girlfriend and fell fast and very hard. I'm looking for some awesome words of wisdom that I can share with him. We've always had a very respectful and good relationship with him, never having too many conflicts and now he just won't hear anything we have to say. We've tried to remain positive with him but it's getting difficult. Help!!!!
