Not to be a square, or snitch but...

Are the moderators on vacation? Things are getting pretty nasty in the college life forum in terms of people calling people names and cuss words thrown about with reckless abandon. While a twisted individual such as myself enjoys pointless banter such as this, I have seen threads deleted for one tenth of the stuff that is on the asian chicks and interracial dating threads.

NOTE: Please don't delete the threads until 10pm EDT so I can finish reading them.

A reminder to everyone to use the "report offensive post" link at the bottom of problematic messages. Mods are volunteers who are regular members. We rely on your help.

What happens when an offensive post is reported? Do the mods contact the offender?

Depending on the situation, threads are removed or closed, posts are removed or edited, the person who posted the violation is warned, asked to post an apology and/or or has their posting privileges temporarily or permanently suspended.

Our work is easier when members quickly report offensive posts, and don't bother to reply to those posts on line. When members report the posts, it also helps mods when members are specific about what the offense is and what post # it is.

Don't be shy about reporting problems and don't assume that someone else will report a problem. Mods would rather get several reports of an offensive post than to have an offensive post remain public because no one reported it.
