Is something wrong with the clock/time on CC today? I've made some posts that are logged in at 5 hours after I made them (back to the future)...and some that are just fine. My clock has bounced back and forth from accurate to five hours ahead...but it still SAYS it's eastern time. Posts are being posted in the oddest orders...
What's up?

This seem to be a continuing problem. I am also gettting that "you will be takent to a poll" response that thumper mentioned in another (closed) thread, and when this occurs,t he sequence of the posts is wrong (ie the post gets put above the last one currently ont he thread). This is pretty confusing. Any thughts. Oh.. and happy new year.

Now I am getting this message: Quote:

| In the thread with the screwed up post sequence and time stamp. It is changing the time of the posts and listing their posting time as several hours in the future!

It's horrific tonight. Really. Post order on me has been screwed up on just every one of my posts to HSL tonight.

I just posted and there's a post after mine that was, according to the timestamp, posted this afternoon, which is still in the future.

Undoubtedly so, but how should this effect the timing and post sequencing? It happened again to me this morning. I can see it potentially effecting simultaneous postings but not mis-sequencing existing posts spaced hours apart.

Problem still continues. Messages on the Prep School forums (fora?) have appeared in the strangest order. My CC clock says the correct zone, but up until a few minutes ago it was six hours ahead. It has corrected itself on this page now, however.

How can there be anything more important that fixing these clocks? The servers otherwise seem to be up and running.

Are there also problems with the site loading or posts posting?

I couldn't get one for several hours today if that counts, but I'm thinking that might just be my internet/computer. Although I could go to other sites.

The clock issues come from load-sharing among multiple servers. That's why the busyness is an issue: more use of more servers leads to more problems with snarled-up clocks.

We had one of our servers go down due to hardware failure and the temporary one put in its place while a permanent replacement could be found had clock issues. The temporary server was so busy, I was unable to get into it to reset the clock. I am now working to add the permanent server back in and take the temporary one back out so this should resolve the clock issues. I apologize for the inconvenience.

CC runs so well that when there's a glitch, we think we're not getting our money's worth. Don't get me wrong, I'm not complaining about the size of the current subscription fee. |
