political forum

Quote:
I appreciate the mods at CC setting up this political forum DURING the campaign and election. At this point, those events are OVER...Done... and all that is happening here is unnecessary carping of issues and people. My New Year's wish for this COLLEGE FORUM...is that these boards now be closed....and that we return to business as usual...college issues and issues facing college parents and students (like in the Cafes). There are tons of internet political forums and they don't discuss college issues. I think it's time to shutter this area..until the next presidential election.
I posted the above on the Palin family thread which is really getting snarky.

I do appreciate that CC set up this forum DURING the election and campaign...but I think it IS time to return to the business of COLLEGE confidential...not politics confidential.

My new years wish is that this political area be shuttered until the next presidential election. It's my opinion that it has run its course and is now just getting snarky.

A dissenting view: Perhaps year-round continuation of the Political forum will filter some (though obviously not all) of the snarky crap away from the other boards. And it does make it easy to tell someone, "Hey, take this to the Political forum and shut up already!"
