Beefing Up CC

Sorry about some of the outages in the last couple of days. We're seeing record traffic levels for this time of year, and we're also seeing increased activity from other sites. For example, you can now find CC content from college forums on CollegeView.com, like this page: Columbia University - New York, New York - Undergraduate Information

To handle the higher loads, we are immediately adding three big new servers and making a host of technical changes that will give us better stability and faster-loading pages. Watch for additional improvements in the next few weeks - a spiffy new look for our College Visits section, more user features, and more.

Big thanks to our technical staff, who have been working around the clock both to keep our current servers up and running while planning and implementing the changes that will make the site run smoothly going forward.

Traffic will get even heavier if CC is linked to Naviance. Given the user survey I took recently on Naviance, it's a possibility.
