professor trouble

Ok, I had an assignment: "When you have finished all three of these lessons please send me a Private Mail message of about a paragraph in length and tell me what you have learned that you did not know before. Be personal and specific; do not merely repeat the grammar phrases you have been reading. Tell me what you will be doing in your future writing to be sure you have avoided these sentence errors."

I responded with this : Professor so-and-so, If you would like I can easily convey, in my own words of course, the concepts given. This unfortunately is akin to verbal diarrhea and constitutes as nothing but regurgitation of facts. I prefer to be blunt and honest about what I have or haven't learned. So in regards to the last three lessons I must say that I have learned a minimal amount. The points mentioned in lessons 25-27 are complicated and will take time, definitely more than one week to master. However, I do feel that I have been sufficiently introduced to the material and have been given the the tools (e.g. text, websites,y your email address) to continue my study of these concepts which will lead to my eventual mastery. It seems like the process of learning, especially when pertaining to grammar is best learned through trial and error. Although this doesn't always produce the best grade, it does produce the best long term results. | | Sincerely Jenn

His response to this was : "Whatever"

Does anyone else find that rude? What should I do? It seems so unprofessional. Any help would be appreciated.
