Remove Post Counts

I know this is the wrong forum, but there is no forum for this, so don't complain. This is the board I frequent most, so if u think this is in the wrong place, don't read it.

I think we should remove post counts on the forums. They lead to stupid and senseless posts such as "omg, should I retake my 2390?", and threads pinning Asians against Asians. If we got rid of the post count, people would stop trying to boost their ego with a stupid number and only quality posts would be made.

I used to learn a lot about admissions and college stuff, but no longer do I because the forums are infested with kids posting dumb crap.

Sorry, I didn't get a 2400, I was trying to quote other people, but didn't include quotations, I have made it more clear.

i have 40,000 posts at one forum. been there since 1999 when the Web was young and programming was done in Perl, not PHP.

ooh, getting my first post on this one. One problem with removing counts is that some people like to feel like they have seniority over others because they have more posts. Really, it's annoying on some sites where people post just to post, but from what I've seen here so far, it's not nearly as bad.

You know, this might sound *****y, but compared to crises occuring in Sudan, Darfur and Ethiopia I kind of thing post counts are hardly an issue to fret about. sorry, this wasnt a personal attack on the OP or anything
