Really Disappointed In College Confidential

I am really disappointed you have not answered my posts or my responses back to your email on why a post was taken off the Indiana University forum on May 15. The post was put there by an active and helpful poster on college confidential.

I received an email explaining that you were looking into it. I have not received a response or a request to view it and find out why it was pulled.

Not only that but many people responded and you actually pulled the tread from the forum issues.

Hey cheezwhiz, I have experienced the same thing. I have tried for months trying to contact them and they never respond. The moderation here is as tough as hell, yet they can't be bothered to respond to important concerns. If I were you, I would leave now before they start physically abusing you.

Please PM me the titles of the posts. While we do try to offer an explanation when posts are removed, our volunteer mods don't always have the time to contact everyone or research actions by other mods.

By far the most common reasons for post/thread removal are discourtesy to other members, inclusion of links to personal blogs, commercial sites, or other non-authoritative content, and any kind of promotion/solicitation/baseless trashing. Our TOS is here: http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/...q_new_faq_item

Sorry for the problem!

I posted on a thread today entitiled something like "Why Was My Post Deleted," started by yelena concerning an earlier thread that had been deleted and that thread was also deleted. There was nothing deragatory in the posts, and there were no links. The thread had to do with a cancelled graduation at an Ohio high school. Why were those posts deleted? It was in the Admissions forum.

In the Terms of Service, it is stated that No discussion of moderation is allowed. So, your topic asking "Why was my post deleted" falls under "discussion of moderation" and hence was removed.

Okay, then why was the original thread (neither of which were my threads or topics) about the Ohio high school graduation cancellation deleted? There was no discussion of "moderation" in that thread. Just discussion of an Ohio high school who's graduation was cancelled because of cheating.

alemom...are you able to view the Ohio high school thread here:

High school cancels graduation due to the prevalence of cheaters

It appears the thread was moved and/or merged into the Parent Cafe.

Thanks, Lenitus! When they "merge" a thread, does it completely disappear?

In the case of a thread move there is usually a re-direct put in place to guide visitors to the new location. I've never personally merged a thread before, but I would think a re-direct would also be in order.

In this particular case, I guess the thread did indeed disappear!

Sorry for the confusion...

My first guess was that CC is covering up for the high school so there wouldn't be more damage to its reputation . That was my thouthg because my thread just disappear and there was no sign to tell that they just moved it. Anyway, happy ending.
